Metalworking lubricants
When Standard Lubricants Reach Their Limits
Depending on the material, part geometry, tool, and process control, metal forming processes place very different demands on the lubricant used. If a standard lubricant is not sufficient, this can result in, among other things, high tool wear, inconsistent part quality, surface defects, or unnecessarily high lubricant consumption.
Subsequent process steps, such as washing, welding, bonding, or coating, must also be taken into account when selecting a lubricant. An application-specific development specifically coordinates lubrication performance, application, and subsequent processes, and considers the lubricant as an integral part of the entire manufacturing chain.
Depending on the application, targeted optimization can help:
- More stable process control and reproducible component results
- A way to reduce friction and tool wear
- Lubricant application tailored to specific needs
- Alignment with Subsequent Manufacturing Steps
- Opportunity to reduce the effort required for cleaning and degreasing
- A way to reduce contamination in the machine environment
- Opportunities for Optimizing Process Workflows
Custom Development
Custom Lubricants from Raziol
Not every manufacturing process can be equally well addressed with a standard lubricant. Raziol therefore develops lubricants that are specifically tailored to the material, tool, forming process, Lubrication Technology , and subsequent manufacturing steps.
Requirements are determined in collaboration with the customer and evaluated in our in-house laboratory. Based on this, existing formulations can be modified or new lubricants developed, produced as samples, and tested under simulated or actual production conditions.
Areas of Application
- Complex forming, deep-drawing, punching, and cutting processes
- Applications with specific material, temperature, or surface requirements
- Processes involving high or uneven lubricant application
- Manufacturing processes with specific requirements for welding, bonding, cleaning, or coating
- Applications in which the lubricant and Lubrication Technology are to be optimized together
Features
- Customized adaptation to the specific manufacturing process
- In-house laboratory, development, and manufacturing capabilities
- Conducting laboratory analyses and tribological tests
- Production and testing of application-specific sample quantities
