Tribometer 5100
The new test system Tribometer 5100 is an innovative, recent development and is used to ascertain friction values. Testing with this model allows a simulation of the friction conditions during sheet metal forming to ascertain the coefficient of friction μ between tool and material using the flat line principle.
Variation of the system parameters (e.g. lubricant, materials of sheet metal and tools, as well as their surfaces, coatings and roughness values of sheet metal and tool) and the technological parameters (e.g. speed, surface contact pressure, temperature, application quantity, ...) guarantees test conditions which almost exactly simulate actual operation. Adjustment of various speeds, heated tools and material supports, as well as diverse levels of surface contact pressure up to 500 N/mm². Thus, the friction values for various individual conditions of the respective application are ascertained with utmost precision.
All data is precisely recorded via Raziol measuring and evaluation technology; VISU 4000 is used for self-explanatory operation and monitoring. Contrasting the respective friction value will then provide a clear comparison of the most diverse lubricants.
